Terms of use

Last updated October 21, 2026. By using RulesOfDriving.com, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

What this site is

RulesOfDriving.com is a free, independent educational tool. It offers lessons, games and practice tests about traffic rules and road signs. It is not a driving school, it is not affiliated with any DMV or government agency, and it does not issue licenses, permits or certificates.

Educational use only

Everything here is general information, not legal advice. Passing our practice tests does not mean you will pass an official exam, and it does not mean you are ready to drive. Laws vary by state and change over time. Your state's official driver handbook and state law always take priority. See the full accuracy disclaimer.

Your responsibility on the road

You are responsible for how you drive and for following the law where you drive. Never use this site while driving. Supervising adults are responsible for how learner drivers use it.

Acceptable use

  • Use the site for personal, non-commercial learning. Teachers and parents can use it with students.
  • Do not try to disrupt, overload or break into the site or the systems behind it.
  • Do not copy or republish large parts of the site, or scrape it in bulk, without permission.

Content and ownership

The site's text, games, illustrations and design are protected by copyright. Road sign designs come from public standards such as the federal MUTCD and are shown for teaching purposes. Linking to any page is welcome.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, RulesOfDriving.com and its creators are not liable for any loss, injury, fine, failed exam or other damage that comes from using or relying on the site. This includes direct, indirect, incidental and consequential damages.
